Another downside to this camera is that everytime I plug it up to my TV it shows the video but never gives off sound but if I take memory card and place in computer sound is there same as if I watch video on the camera the sound is there but as soon as I plug it into TV the sound is no longer there! maybe you know something I can do to get sound to work I am using the mini av cable that have 1 audio and 1 video RCA output maybe I need the one with dual audio output but really dont see that being an issue!

The software is horrible. You can only use the pause button. When I try to go frame by frame it just goes back to the beginning and starts over.

……….I bought the RCA small wonder because RCA said I could go to any Rite Aid or CVS drug store and get my videos transferred to a DVD. So far, I’ve tried both and none of them were able to do it. Something about the ‘drivers’………………( whatever a ‘driver’ is )..I’d truly appreciate your input and thoughts and advise on this matter……….thank you

At last a review of a product that I actually understand. Thank you so much. I’ve wanted a small camcorder for ages, but I get bogged down in all the technical stuff written about them, and get scared of putting my hand in my pocket. This has got me going again, I’m not quite sure how I found you, but I’m glad I did. My husband will be pleased too!!

The RCA Small Wonder sounds better than my Aiptek DZO-V50, which has very limited microphone range, actually my Sony DSC-W50 does a much nicer job on videos and sound than my Aiptek. Good to see reviews like this.

Hi Dave,
I believe you’re reading too deeply between the lines because overall I am happy with my decision to purchase the Small Wonder over the Flip. As for the quality, they’re roughly the same, in fact, the Small Wonder actually has a setting for better quality–something the Flip does not. Finally, it’s not that fragile. The only fragility issue I mentioned was that of the USB arm and video display window and it would only be a problem if you left it in the out position before handing it off to a young child.

My first impression of your review of the RCA Small Wonder, is that
the device is a bit clunky. It’s cheaper than the Flip Mino, works,
much the same, but has fragility issues. What sticks in my mind
most is that the device barely does the job, and has problems
dealing with Windows Vista Operating system.
That’s really not a good selling point. Most new computers
come with Windows Vista installed. RCA should have given
Vista much more thought.
All in all; I would pass and go for the Flip Mino.

Interesting. I’d only ever heard about the Flip, the Flip, the Flip and on and on. I didn’t really consider the fact that there was competition. thanks.
